Championship side Bristol City are bracing themselves for bids from numerous Premier League clubs for their Ghanaian striker Albert Adomah.
Premier League sides Fulham, Aston Villa, Stoke City, Everton, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland have all been credited with an interest in Adomah and a bidding war could take place when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Adomah joined Bristol at the start of last season from Barnet and he was voted as the club’s player of the season in just his first year at the club. Bristol City stand to make a significant profit on the striker they signed for only £150,000, as he signed an extended three-year contract in the summer.
Adomah has been in terrific form this season which has caught the eye of many teams in the top flight. Along with Nicky Maynard, Adomah has been one of the key figures of Bristol City’s recent resurgence up the Championship table under new manager Derek McInnes.
But Bristol City have stressed on a number of occasions that neither Adomah nor Maynard are available for transfer and they are unwilling to sell in January.
But once the Premier League comes calling, City know they face a losing battle and can only hope to get the best possible transfer fee for the club. Adomah is sure to want to play in the Premier League and Derek McInnes knows the club will struggle to get in his way.
Fulham are believed to be leading the race to sign the Ghanaian striker, but they face stiff competition from a host of other Premier League clubs. It is reported that all six Premier League sides mentioned, have scouted Adomah at some point this season.
Adomah’s form for Bristol City has also been recognised by his country as he won his first cap for Ghana in their 1-0 friendly defeat against Brazil in September.
