Denver Hume has enjoyed his first taste of regular first-team football this season but there have been signs recently that his minutes on the pitch are beginning to catch up with him.
The academy product is only 21-years-old and has made 35 appearances this term, not missing a game since the clash against Gillingham in December.
He has been an important part of Phil Parkinson’s 3-4-3 formation, providing pace and balance in the left wing-back role, but he has been relatively ineffective going forward of late.
That was evidenced against Coventry on Sunday as he failed to complete a cross and achieved a pass accuracy of just 59% before being hauled off just after the hour mark (per WhoScored).
Fans are beginning to show their frustration with Hume and some have called for January loan signing Declan John to be given a chance, having so far failed to make an appearance for the club.
Here is what some supporters have been expressing in reaction to Hume’s latest performance.
Good move. Hume has had a tough few games and should really have a rest. His final ball has been terrible.

Very painful. Denver hume has no positional sense going forward or defensively.

Poor poor game from Hume

Hume is absolutely awful. Nothing is going to convince me otherwise. Would make such a difference if we had a better Left Back / LWB #SAFC

Get Hume off now, may as well have a stump at the bottom of his leg than a right foot

Hume needs dropped, backed him for ages but my god he’s been awful again.

Im sorry but for me Hume is the weak link.
