Leeds United fans will look back on the previous year with mixed emotions, with the club encountering extremely mixed fortunes over the past twelve months.
Looking dead certs for a playoff spot under Garry Monk, the Whites fell away in the dying stages of the season to finish outside of the top-six in the second-tier, but under the stewardship of summer appointed boss Thomas Christiansen, the West Yorkshire outfit finally look prepared to launch a successful bid for promotion.
Leeds fans here in The Transfer Tavern are always a welcome bunch, with the Yorkshire contingent always bringing a wonderful atmosphere to the venue on their numerous visits to the capital. Hoping to be visiting more often next year, with trips to Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham to name but a few should they be promoted, the excitement is seriously building at the club. Always keen to a crack at the jackpot on the quiz machine, our landlord caught up with fans in between rounds to determine their thoughts on their chances of promotion, and their likely activity in the current transfer window.
Set for a busy few weeks, Whites fans are keen to see new additions, and our landlord couldn’t help but suggest looking at Brandley Kuwas of Dutch side, Heracles. The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Eredivisie minnows this term, registering an impressive three goals and seven assists in only fifteen top-flight appearances. The pacy winger operates most effectively from the right side of midfield, and could provide wonderful competition to the likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas as the season progresses.
Kuwas looks ready for a crack at English football, and a six-month spell in the second-tier could prepare him for life in the Premier League should Leeds be promoted. An exciting player with bags of potential, Kuwas would surely thrive at Elland Road under Christiansen.
