Everton fans haven’t had too much to shout about this season. Wins and top performances have come inconsistently, but when they’ve come they’ve been worth the wait. Yesterday was one of those, and whilst everyone played their part in a memorable away day, the man of the match, as voted by the fans, was the excellent Bernard.

As the game to an end and the Toffees ran out comfortable 2-0 winners, it could only be the scorer of the second goal who took the plaudits after a fine display. The little Brazilian was on hand to score Marco Silva’s side’s second goal just after the half an hour mark, adding to Kurt Zouma’s opener, amd from there it was always going to be an easy afternoon for the travellers against a poor West Ham.
At times this season, Everton fans have been left wondering what all the fuss is about with Bernard, however, performances like yesterday show what he’s all about and the fans couldn’t knock his work rate, desire and quality yesterday as he well and truly put the Hammers to the sword in their backyard, a performance well worth the man of the match award.

The Toffees were loving Bernard yesterday and will hope they can see more of the winger in that kind of inspired form.
