Everton: Fans drool as Toffees make double enquiries for Paulo Gazzaniga and Sergio Romero

According to an update by reliable Everton correspondent Paul Joyce on Twitter, the Toffees have made two enquires over a potential deadline day signing – with the club approaching both Man United and Tottenham for their back-up goalkeepers.

Sergio Romero, who is currently sat behind David De Gea and Dean Henderson in the United pecking order, has attracted interest while Spurs have also been contacted over their own third-stringer, Paulo Gazzaniga.

Director of Football Marcel Brands is now on the hunt for an alternative to Jordan Pickford, with the shot-stopping duo now at the centre of talks on deadline day.

As the club search for more options between the sticks, especially given Pickford’s recent performances and lack of form, Gazzaniga and Romero have emerged as real candidates for the Blues – but time is running out to do a deal, given that the cut off is at 11pm tonight.

So far, Everton have snapped up James Rodriguez, Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and, just today, defender Ben Godfrey (Transfermarkt).

This update that the club may not be done has now excited plenty of Toffees, find all of their best comments down below.

Everton fans, would you prefer Gazzaniga or Romero? Have your say in the comments down below…
