Former Premier League striker now Sky Sports pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has slammed Salomon Rondon after some news he has heard on the Everton striker.

The Lowdown: Turkey talks

It has been reported that Rondon has opened talks with a number of clubs in Turkey ahead of a potential move before the Super Lig's transfer deadline on Thursday.

Adana Demirspor are one of a number of teams thought to be keen on signing him, and have officially registered their interest in getting a deal over the line.

The Latest: Agbonlahor reacts

Speaking to Football Insider, Agbonlahor gave a scathing review of Rondon's time at Goodison Park, and claimed that the Merseyside club should let him go as they will be fine with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay:

“I would be.

“Calvert-Lewin will come back. Maupay is a good player who will suit Everton.

“Rondon is not good enough. Even when he comes off the bench, he doesn’t move and get around, that’s just one of those things.

“I think Lampard knows that. He’d rather play with a false nine in Gray or Gordon than with Rondon.

“He should go and play some football somewhere else.”

The Verdict: Good riddance

If a deal can be done for Rondon to leave before tonight's Turkish deadline, then it would certainly be good riddance.

He has only managed to score three goals and make one assist in 27 games in total for the Toffees (Transfermarkt), and has received heavy criticism for some of his performances so already this season.

At 32 years of age, and earning just over £20,000 per week at the Blues, it is time for Frank Lampard's side to finally get the Venezuela international off of their books, and proceed with Maupay as sufficient cover for the injured Calvert-Lewin for now.
