Everton: Medical expert shares more injury news -Everton News

A medical expert has now shared some more injury news for Everton before they play Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Thursday night.

The Lowdown: Injury pile-on

The Toffees are missing a few first-team players through injuries and now suspension, after both Jarrad Brathwaite and Salomon Rondon were shown straight red cards in their 3-2 loss at home to Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Frank Lampard will now be sweating on the fitness of some players for what could be a pivotal final-day clash away to Arsenal.

The Latest: Lampard update

As shared by medical expert Ben Dinnery on Twitter, Lampard has revealed that both Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey ‘probably won’t be available’ for Everton’s upcoming clash against the Eagles, while the Toffees manager is hoping that Michael Keane will be okay after a recent illness.

The 43-year-old said: “Michael was sick overnight so we’re hoping it’s a short-term one and he’ll be fit for Thursday. Our other centre-backs [Mina and Godfrey, who were missing today] probably won’t be available.”

Should Everton have hired Lampard?

The Verdict: Big blow

It is certainly a big blow for Everton to be without Mina and Godfrey for the match on Thursday, especially given Branthwaite’s sending off and the possibility of Keane not recovering in time.

It means that they could go into the game with only one fit senior centre-back in Mason Holgate, which means that they may be forced to play someone out of position.

It would not be an ideal scenario, especially given what is at stake, with a win guaranteeing them Premier League safety but any other result possibly leaving their fate in the balance right up to the final day of the campaign.
