Everton’s attack has produced steady, if unspectacular, returns this season.
Beto and Kieran Dewsbury-Hall lead the scoring charts with eight league goals each, while Iliman Ndiaye and Thierno Barry have chipped in with six apiece.
Spreading the goals around has helped, but it also highlights a clear issue — the Toffees lack a truly prolific striker capable of elevating them up the table.
With that in mind, attention is already turning to potential reinforcements this summer.
Everton Exploring Delap Move
Everton are weighing up a move for Liam Delap as they look to strengthen their options up front.
The striker — once described as “impressive” by Premier League legend Alan Shearer — enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Ipswich Town in 2024/25, scoring 12 league goals and catching the attention of several top-flight clubs.
However, his switch to Chelsea last summer has not gone to plan. Delap has struggled to make a consistent impact at Stamford Bridge, and reports suggest he could now be made available for around the £30 million fee the Blues paid for him.
According to The i Paper, there is internal discussion at Everton over whether to revive their previous interest. While some within the club see Delap as a strong option with Premier League experience, others are more cautious, pointing to his difficult season at Chelsea as a potential concern.
As a result, Everton are also keeping alternative options open, particularly in the European market where they may find better value.
This feels like a calculated gamble waiting to happen. Delap has already shown he can score at this level — the question is whether Everton believe that version of him is still there.
If they get it right, they could land a striker ready to explode. If not, it’s another risk in a position they can’t afford to get wrong.
