Everton have already been one of the more active Premier League clubs in the transfer market this summer.
The Toffees have invested heavily in reshaping their squad, bringing in Merlin Röhl, Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George, Christian Nørgaard and Zach Lee for a combined fee of around £58.8 million, with Lee arriving as a free agent.
Despite that spending spree, Everton do not appear to be finished yet.
The club are continuing to explore opportunities to add more quality to their squad, and a free-agent winger has now emerged as a potential target.
Everton In Race for Diatta
According to Foot Mercato, Everton are among the clubs interested in Krépin Diatta, who is currently available without a transfer fee after leaving Monaco.
The Senegal international has been described as a “superstar” by Breaking the Lines and brings considerable experience to the table, having won 64 caps for Senegal and played in the Champions League.
Diatta spent five seasons with Monaco, making 143 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists. While his numbers are not spectacular, his versatility could make him an attractive option for Everton, particularly given his ability to operate in several attacking and wide positions.
The 27-year-old is not short of options, either. Ipswich Town and Schalke are also understood to have shown interest, with clubs from both England and Germany monitoring his situation.
Diatta is currently in Senegal while he considers his next move. With no transfer fee required, Everton could see the experienced winger as an opportunity to add another useful option without significantly increasing their spending.
