Nottingham Forest: Fans debate whether Samba Sow has been the signing of the season

Nottingham Forest could make the play-off places for the first time since 2010/11 this term and, more excitingly, the prospect of finishing in the top two is still not out of reach.

They have been terrific at times, beating the likes of Leeds and Brentford in recent weeks to bolster their promotion credentials, and fans have been discussing one of the reasons for their improvement this term. As well as bringing in Sabri Lamouchi, there have been a number of changes in the playing personnel, some of whom have made a key difference to the Reds by making them more solid defensively and harder to beat as a result.

In particular, supporters point to midfielder Samba Sow and a discussion is taking place about whether he has been the signing of the season, with some fans suggesting goalkeeper Brice Samba is also worthy of recognition.

However, with Sow in the team Forest have lost just once in 18 league games, yet lost seven in 15 without him, and that underlines his influence and how Forest would have perhaps struggled a bit without the 30-year-old.

Yep, both Samba Brice and Sow are great signings and we probably wouldn’t be where we are without them both, Cash has been like a new signing as well in his new role
