Some Fulham fans have expressed their dismay over the draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup as the Whites’ official Twitter account announced that Southampton are up next.
It seems as if supporters were pining for a local derby, or better still, lower league opposition to kickstart a cup run – but with those hopes dashed as a result of the draw, there wasn’t too much optimism amongst the fanbase judging by reaction to the tie on Twitter.
That said, the game will be a repeat of a match in which Fulham came out on top last season, following their 3-2 success over the Saints back in November which marked Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge.
However, there seemed to be more concern with Scott Parker’s side focusing on the league, with the team getting up and running at the weekend thanks to the win over Blackburn Rovers.
Though considering the lack of enthusiasm coming from these fans in particular, even the prospect of top-flight opposition visiting Craven Cottage is not going to be enough to get these supporters excited about the tie in a fortnight’s time:

Blimey. The FA Cup 3rd round tie again? It doesn’t exactly set the pulse racing, does it?
