There have been plenty of top performers this term for Leeds United as they look to finally earn promotion to the Premier League, including Gaetano Berardi.
The Whites are currently top of the Championship and are seven points clear of the play-off places, but that has only been possible thanks to several fantastic performances from their squad. Kalvin Phillips’ displays, for example, have seen him eyed by top-tier side Tottenham, whilst others such as Pablo Hernandez, with his six goals and six assists to date, have been creative forces going forward.
Berardi has not been one of the first names on the teamsheet, but that does not mean he hasn’t been an asset to his manager, still making 17 appearances in the second tier. His contract runs out at the end of this campaign, but it seems that he is popular figure at Elland Road.
The club’s supporters have been lauding the 31-year-old on Twitter, with several calling for his contract to be extended. One fan called him exceptional, whilst another said he has improved under Bielsa.
