The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are quickly getting over their Champions League final loss in Kiev to Real Madrid on Saturday night.
Well, perhaps that’s a bit far but the shock signing of Fabinho on Monday night certainly helped our resident Reds get over their infamous loss to Los Blancos out in Ukraine. With the Brazilian on board, the punters propping up our bar believe Jurgen Klopp is certainly putting the plans in place to challenge once again next time around.
Though the former Monaco lynchpin has long been touted with a move to the Premier League, his move to Anfield came at very little fanfare and our local Liverpudlians were really rather shocked. Indeed, his signing will see him more than likely line-up alongside Naby Keita in Klopp’s engine room, representing a major upgrade on his options prior to this summer window.
