Marcelo Bielsa can be pleased with Leeds United’s transfer business.
Considering it looked as if United would not bring any new faces to Elland Road at the start of the month, the Whites faithful will be more than happy with the arrival of former Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
Even if they didn’t spend all that much, having had so many injuries already, numerous players returning to full-fitness will feel like new signings anyway.
With that being said, let’s take a look at the two biggest winners of the club’s transfer window…
Kemar Roofe
A temptation to bring a striker in last month would have been a pressing one. Indeed, with the Premier League so close, the Whites clearly trust Roofe with the burden of scoring goals to ensure they reach the proverbial Promised Land.
Tyler Roberts
Given Samu Saiz’s move back to Spain and that Izzy Brown is just returning from injury, United are slightly short on the attacking midfield front with Pablo Hernandez having to move from the right-wing to play that role.
The lack of options means Roberts has a better chance of game time and has less competition for places with no new attacking arrivals as of yet and like Harrison, can continue to develop as a result of that.
The 20-year-old has been used in numerous roles for United, whether that be up top, out wide or in attacking midfield so that versatility will allow him to certainly benefit from United’s lack of transfer activity.
