With that in mind, a sensational report in the Daily Telegraph claiming John Terry could extend his stay at Villa Park on a deal that would see him MISS any Premier League game with Chelsea has, naturally, sparked quite the reaction.
Terry is a hugely popular figure amongst the Villa faithful, though that kind of agreement seems strange. The likes of Frank Lampard and Cristiano Ronaldo have had to play against the sides where they made their name, so special dispensation for the former England skipper seems odd.
