Portsmouth have really struggled for form this year, which may really jeopardise their promotion hopes this season.
Kenny Jackett and his side were clear front-runners for League One promotion just over a month ago, now with their last league win coming at the beginning of January, Pompey need to find it within themselves to get back to being the successful team they were.
Goals have dried up and their winning mentality has been lost, not good signs for a team desperate to reach the Championship once again.
It seems that whatever happens during the rest of the season, Portsmouth need to make improvements to their squad.
A signing who would signal their intent to improve would be the capture of Cardiff City’s Kadeem Harris.
Harris, (who is valued at £450k on Transfermarkt) is facing an uncertain future with Cardiff, with his contract up in the summer. Although he has been used somewhat in the Premier League this season, should Portsmouth gain promotion, he would be a talented player that adds something new to their squad.
The 25-year-old has started three times for Cardiff in the top flight this season but a move down to the Championship would see him get more time on the pitch to show-off what he’s all about.
Kadeem Harris has a good burst of pace about him and has the experience that could be useful for Portsmouth going forward.
A move would probably depend on what happens with the likes of Jamal Lowe and Ronan Curtis and ultimately whether Portsmouth gain promotion or not. Indeed, Harris is a similar level talent to that gilded pair and would certainly take the South Coast club’s level up.
Nevertheless, now is the time for Pompey to look into possible signings as they eye big improvements this summer.
