Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to finish the season strongly in a bid to take momentum into next year.
It’s not been the best season for the Villans in the Championship but, after last year, it has been a great deal more stable.
That, of course, is not saying much but with Steve Bruce in charge there is a good chance the Villa Park outfit will be back in the top flight before too long.
Certainly, they’ll be looking to get things going along nicely in 2017/18 and that really all does start now as they head to Wigan this weekend.
They’ve not been helped, of course, by the fact they’ve had a number of injuries recently and it looks like Mile Jedinak will once again have to play at centre-half against the Latics.
That, though, may not be such a bad thing with the Australian performing well against Sheffield Wednesday – something Steve Bruce referred to at his press conference, via Villa’s Twitter account:
