Journalist Paul Brown has now dropped an enticing Everton manager claim amid uncertainty over the future of Frank Lampard.

The Lowdown: Real concern

It has been reported that there is a ‘real concern‘ at board level with regards to the Goodison Park faithful’s recent results and position in the Premier League table.

Everton news!

Lampard had lost eight of his 12 games as manager at the Merseyside club before today’s momentous win over Manchester United, and so it seems his long-term future is certainly still in doubt.

The Latest: Tracking managers

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown has claimed that the board are likely now keeping track of other managers, in case they do decide to pull the plug with Lampard:

“It wouldn’t surprise me if they are keeping track of managers across Europe.

“The owner does have plenty of people in his ear all the time advising him on things, so you could see that certain names might have cropped up if things go wrong.”

The Verdict: Enticing

It certainly is enticing to hear that the board are seemingly looking at other managers to potentially replace Lampard, despite him only taking the job a few months ago.

They have been linked with Rennes head coach Bruno Genesio, but could also go down the route of giving it to Duncan Ferguson until the end of the season.

However, they have kept the faith in Lampard despite his poor start, and so may look to stick with the former Derby County and Chelsea boss, unless things really start to get ugly down the bottom of the table.
