Sunderland endured another night to forget yesterday evening in their 1st round FA Cup replay down in Kent against fellow League One side Gillingham.
The Black Cats have not had a great season so far and after the sacking of Jack Ross, it actually seems as though things have taken a turn for the worse.
Right now, Phil Parkinson has a lot to do to try and turn results around as well as get fans onside and that is something he is going to have to do fast.
A number of the club’s players are taking a hammering at the moment, too, with forward Will Grigg continuing to struggle for form.
He was subbed off during extra time last night, and took a rollicking on Twitter – so let’s take a look at some of the criticism that went his way:

Grigg off, Connelly on.

Why did we get Griggs for

Grigg has no confidence & can’t buy a goal right now!
How he’s stayed on the pitch this long beggars belief!
He’s had enough time to show what he’s got & failed!
Time to give younger blood ago, they certainly couldn’t be any worse!

Send him back to Wigan , dreadful , just doesn't care like many others he's not alone

Grigg should never ever ever play for Sunderland ever again. Absolute disgrace. Worst player to play for the club.

The other 9 playing alongside him are giving him a run for his money on that one. (Bar O’Nien)

Grigg will want to prove himself, but it seems fans are going to take real convincing now.
