Leeds United are all well aware of the rule that states a club can only have a maximum of five loanees in a matchday squad, yet at the moment the Whites have got six players on-loan, meaning so far that Jack Clarke has missed out.
The EFL’s loan quota left Jack Clarke sat at home while Leeds United were beating Wigan on Saturday, a £9.5m winger unable to make the squad.
With the thoughts of Gus Poyet, who knows a thing or two about EFL loan rules…https://t.co/lXxjZYaD4m

The issues of the Leeds’ loanees have been documented by Phil Hay in The Athletic, and plenty of Leeds fans have been quick to reply with their verdict, slamming their loanee winger Clarke, as plenty of them believe that the £10m Tottenham man simply isn’t good enough.
Clarke is set to face off against the club’s other five loanees for a place in Marcelo Bielsa’s matchday squad for the rest of the season. Those other five are Eddie Nketiah, Illan Meslier, Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Ben White, and so far the winger has failed to play a minute of Championship action, with his only game time coming in the EFL Cup.

Jack Clarke is nowhere near the player we expected. £10m is a bargain. Hes just taking up a loan space now

TBF he’s not playing well enough yet. Good game for U23s though. Need to bulk up a bit I think

Pointless loan. He’ll be the one that gets left out pretty much every week unless someone gets injured.

The reality is that Clarke has barely beaten a man since his illness. That includes pre-season against lower opposition.

Can’t see how he gets back in. Hasn’t been at his breakthrough level since the derby game.

The Whites seem pretty clear on the matter and are apparently keen to keep dropping Clarke.
