Leeds fans on Twitter were far from happy with Liam Cooper’s Sheffield United display

Everyone has their off days, don’t they? Sometimes those bad days at the office do come at the wrong time, though, and that’s what happened for Liam Cooper yesterday as his errors led to both Sheffield United’s goal and the sending off of his goalkeeper Kiko Casilla in a game that may well prove crucial come to the end of the season.

As Leeds prepared for their early kick-off against Sheffield United the emphasis would have been on Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson doing their utmost to keep the Blades out as with Chris Wilder’s side’s defensive record, making sure they don’t concede would at least guarantee Marcelo Bielsa a point. However, it wasn’t to be and Cooper was robbed by Billy Sharp in the leadup to Chris Basham’s goal.

In truth, this season has been a spectacular one for Cooper. The defender came into the season on the back of what can only be described as a nightmare campaign after the White’s collapsed in the second half of the 2017/18 season and question marks were raised over his quality. Now, though those doubts seem to have been put to bed, and whilst the fans weren’t happy with him yesterday one bad display won’t undo the good work he’s done this year.

The Whites were far from happy with Cooper when he made his blunder, but a solid display against Millwall next time out would put that nightmare behind him.
