Last night, when Brentford travelled to Elland Road, a lot of the talk was about Pontus Jansson’s return to his former club just months after leaving the Yorkshire club, but in his place, Marcelo Bielsa has recruited Ben White and the Brighton loanee stole the show.

White was sublime throughout the tie as he saw his new side rise to the top of the Championship on goal difference, making it three wins and a draw from four, and as far as everyone at Leeds is concerned the Brighton man needs to keep doing what he’s doing.
Leeds Live gave the defender a rating of 7/10, and it’s not hard to see why. Looking at his stats for the clash on WhoScored, White made an astounding seven interceptions, five clearances and one block, he also won two aerial duels and ended the game with a pass completion rate of 91.8%, showing he can do it all from the nitty-gritty defensive stuff to the more modern ball-playing centre-back duties.
