At times this season, Leeds fans have been left tearing their hair out whilst watching Ezgjan Alioski in action. The Macedonian winger started the season as a left-sided winger and was moved to left-back by Marcelo Bielsa, a move that has seen the fans won over as his form has been greatly improved.

Yesterday evening the Leeds man was in international action for his native North Macedonia and as he won his 25th international cap he christened it with his 5th international goal. The 27-year-old also managed to grab an assist from left-back and it seems that the work he’s been putting in with the Whites is starting to show when he features for his country.
This season, in general, has been an incredibly successful one for Alioski. His efforts from left-back have seen him become Bielsa’s first choice in the role, usurping summer signing Barry Douglas, who at the time of his signing was viewed as a quality coup for the promotion-hunting side. Now, though, the left-back spot is all Alioskis, and his tally of seven goals and five assists he’s proven to be an effective source of end product from a deeper role.

The Whites cannot wait to get back to club football and will hope that Alioski can be as lethal at Elland Road as he has been for his country as of late.
