Yesterday’s early kick off in the Championship was a game that brought a lot of drama. The main news from the game was that of Jack Clarke’s illness, the winger came off at half-time and fell ill before being rushed to hospital. However, in the mayhem of all of that, Kalvin Phillips scored a last gasp equaliser in the 101st minute of the game.

Because of the issues on the sidelines with Jack Clarke, the referee added on a whopping 12 minutes of stoppage time for Leeds to try and find an equaliser, and whilst they took their time going about it, they managed to bag the late late goal in 11th minute of the 12. Kalvin Phillips was the man to deliver it, with just his 4th effort on target this season.
The fans would love to see more from Phillips in terms of goalscoring, but in truth, they’ll just be delighted that he was brought back into the fold. Last weekend in the painful 3-1 home defeat against Norwich, the midfielder was an unused substitute and the fans were gutted that he wasn’t starting in that game. That was put to rest this week though, as not only did he play and star, but he gave the fans their much-needed equaliser.

The Whites could not get enough of the Phillips goal and will hope their midfield man can make scoring goals a more regular thing.
