Leeds: Some Leeds fans talk about Barry Douglas post

Some Leeds United fans have been left talking by the latest post that Barry Douglas recently sent out on Twitter.

Douglas recently posted a video on Twitter and it had him kicking the balls into an empty net. The post was titled ‘been a while’ to suggest how much the player misses football these days.

This season, Douglas has made only 11 Championship appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s men. He’s played once in the FA Cup and has played once in the League Cup as well. All of his appearances have come from the left side of the pitch.

The Scotsman had joined Leeds from Wolves in the summer of 2018 and arrived at the club for a fee of £3.06 million. Since joining, the 30-year-old has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire-based outfit.

On watching this video, many Leeds fans liked what they saw. The others were sarcastic in their comments.

While Leeds fans have every right to look at the video and say that Douglas should take penalties, the reality is that the Scot has never scored from a penalty in his career. This shows that while he might be good at scoring in an empty net, his record suggests that there should be doubts about his ability to do that with a goalkeeper in front of him.
