Leeds United fans were feeling excited over a potential move for Andre Gray after Phil Hay’s update on the Watford man.
According to The Athletic’s journalist, whilst he admitted the striker is on a ‘very big wage’, he went on to say he wouldn’t rule out a move. Gray hasn’t enjoyed the best of times for the Hornets in recent weeks, having been sat on the bench for the last nine games in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).
A couple of fans shared their thoughts on Gray with one giving his thoughts on a potential move, while another compared him to Eddie Nketiah.
Pace. Can score. Would be a proven, experienced version of Nketiah.

Gray doesn’t to my knowledge? Great record so far until this season too. Former Brentford player funnily enough. Would be a superb signing

However, he hasn’t proven to be potent in front of goal this season, having scored just two goals across all competitions. But, he does have a relatively low shots per game average (1.1) in comparison to Patrick Bamford (3.3), showing he doesn’t get many chances in front of goals.
Fans were left bubbling with excitement over a move for the 28-year-old forward as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
Gray would be a phenomenonal signing at this level

That’s definitely a go-er. Adams is ruled out 100%?

Regardless of wages it’s a gamble worth taking if it gets us up. The extra investment next year will more than take care of the money we spend now. Let’s be having yer! MOT
