Leeds United: Plenty of fans are losing patience with Marcelo Bielsa after QPR defeat

Leeds’ 1-0 defeat at QPR continued a very worrying trend for the Whites. They’ve now won just one game in their last eight across all competitions and the likes of Fulham and Brentford are eyeing up Leeds’ position (2nd), being just four and five points behind. Fans are rightly starting to worry, and many of them are losing patience with Marcelo Bielsa.

The Athletic’s Leeds writer Phil Hay reacted to the defeat on Twitter, and he pointed towards the team’s inability to “kill” opponents when they get in positions to. The BBC reported the Whites had 65 per cent of possession in the game and 17 shots compared to QPR’s nine shots. Bielsa’s men only managed to get three of those shots on target, though, and that cost them the game.

Many fans saw Hay’s tweets on how worrying a trend this is, and his verdict that the team are “in real trouble”. Plenty of fans agreed with his verdict and some placed the blame firmly at the door of the manager, with criticism being aimed at his team selection and unwillingness to change his approach during games.
