Some Leeds United fans were bemoaning the goal conceded by the under-18s in their FA Youth Cup tie against Manchester United as they picked out a similarity with the first team.
The Whites ended up losing 1-0 to their Lancashire rivals with the Red Devils opening the scoring in the 60th minute from a corner kick (via Leeds Utd). Marcelo Bielsa’s side have a terrible record when it comes to defending set pieces this season. The Yorkshire outfit have conceded the second highest number of goals from corners in the Championship this season (6.7%), shipping nine from 128 faced, with only Huddersfield Town holding a higher percentage (7.5%) (via LUFC Data).
One fan labelled it as the ‘same old’ problem.
Why are we so absolutely pathetic at defending corners? Who coaches them??? Playing brilliantly tonight but same old.
