Some Leeds United fans were bemoaning the club’s struggles in defence as a statistic emerged following their loss to promotion rivals Nottingham Forest.
After losing 2-0 to the Reds, the Whites have now conceded the first goal in seven successive games across all competitions (via LUFC Data). This run of form is in stark contrast the club’s early-season defensive form, where they held the best record among the top five leagues in Europe and the top four divisions in England. Back in December, the Yorkshire faithful had conceded just 10 goals in their opening 21 league games at a rate of 0.48 goals per game.
One fan highlighted just how he was feeling.
Just depressing.

Earlier in the campaign, Marcelo Bielsa commented on his team’s record at the back as he claimed they made fewer mistakes compared to last season (via TEAMtalk). Indeed, many Leeds fans were left feeling frustrated with the statistic as they took to Twitter to react. With that in mind, here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
Bring back the stats of us keeping clean sheet records, those were the days 😩
