Leeds United: Fans blast the EFL after Patrick Bamford as goal taken away

Leeds United have been blasting the EFL after they awarded the club’s second goal in their win against Luton Town as an own goal to Matt Pearson.

After a cross from Mateusz Klich, Bamford got a touch on the ball before Pearson turned the ball into his own net past James Shea (via BBC).

Despite having the goal taken away from him, the 26-year-old continued his good run of form for the Whites having scored a goal and assisted another in the 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers (via Transfermarkt).

The win extended the club’s winning run in the Championship to six games with Marcelo Bielsa’s side sitting second, two points off top-of-the-table West Bromwich Albion.

Fans couldn’t believe the goal was taken off Bamford as they took to Twitter to lambast the EFL for the announcement of their decision.
