Responding to an update by Leeds United’s official club account, many Whites supporters have been gushing over Luke Ayling’s Player of the Month award for February – describing the defender as a ‘baller‘ and claiming he ‘deserves to win a Ballon d’Or‘.
Ayling, who has started 27 Championship games this season for the Whites, won the February Player of the Month accolade with 51% of the vote according to Leeds United’s official account – perhaps highlighting his stellar last few outings under Marcelo Bielsa. The Englishman has accumulated the joint-third highest amount of tackles on average this season compared to the rest of the squad (2), all the while notching four goals and three assists from the right-back position (WhoScored).
Ayling also opened the scoring with a superb goal during the Whites’ 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town – highlighting his influential presence in the side. As a result, many supporters have flocked to praise the fan favourite on Twitter – here’s what they had to say.
