Leeds United: Fans congratuate under-18s after progress to next round of FA Youth Cup

Leeds United fans were congratulating the club’s under-18s after they overcame Sheffield Wednesday to progress into the next round of the FA Youth Cup. After a draw over the course of 120 minutes, the Whites beat their opponents in a penalty shoot-out to progress to the fifth round of the competition.

The Owls had taken the lead during the game after Charles Hagan slotted home, however, Mark Jackson’s side got on level terms after a goal from Charlie Cresswell. Leeds then took the lead at the very start of extra-time after Luke Cox scored an own goal, however, Wednesday recovered to equalise through Basile Zottos.

The west Yorkshire outfit won the penalty shootout with Herni Kumwenda scoring the winning spot-kick for the side. As you can imagine, fans were full of good wishes for the team after they overcame their opponents in a lively encounter as they took to Twitter to react.
