Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter to the idea that Marcelo Bielsa should have sold Kalvin Phillips in the summer to fund a move for a proven goalscorer.

That particular viewpoint comes from Whites supporter Peter Collins, who wrote into the Yorkshire Evening Post believing his club could be in a better position.
He wrote: “If we really tried and could not get one, allegedly mindful of the financial fair play rules, then perhaps it would have been worth sacrificing Kalvin Phillips, and using the money for a striker. It would have been worth it. Bielsa is a genius at deploying players like chess pieces so could have covered the loss of Phillips, but even he cannot manufacture a goal-scorer.”
Indeed, to say that went down well with supporters on Twitter would be a lie. Many of them clearly did not share the same opinion as the Londoner and felt that Leeds needed the midfielder more than anybody else in the current squad.
The 23-year-old, who has recently just committed his future to the club with a new deal, has been instrumental for Bielsa this season and appears to have continued to go from strength-to-strength under the tutelage of the South American.
For example, in his eight Championship appearances so far this season, Phillips has managed to achieve an average of 4.5 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.8 clearances in the 720 minutes he has been on the field (WhoScored).
