Leeds United fans were feeling wary after comparisons between them and their promotion-rivals emerged.
Taking a look at the Whites’ remaining games, the average position of their remaining opponents is 15.4 with fellow promotion-chasers Fulham, Brentford, Preston North End and Nottingham Forest all facing teams who occupy higher average positions in the league (via James Vause). This didn’t seem to please fans, who were acting cautious, but looking at the club’s record against the teams placed 13th or lower in the Championship this year it should actually be reason for celebration.
Out of their 34 league games, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have dropped points against the bottom-half teams just four times this campaign. With the Yorkshire outfit on a run of three games without a loss, their tails are firmly up ahead of the rest of the campaign. Supporters didn’t want to be too excited about their remaining games as they reacted on Twitter. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
It means nothing… Absolutely nothing

No such thing as easy games. Just 1 game at a time

We can now expect Boro, Hull and Cardiff to all beat us then (after us having 73% possession, a man sent off, and conceding to a corner). We’ll then restore some hope with a high adrenaline 1-1 draw with Fulham. Leeds are going to go ‘full Leeds’ until end of season.

Don’t do it to yourself. One game at a time.

Fed up of seeing these kind of stats they mean nothing! Hope our players don’t share same mentality! Still have to go out there and get the 3 points! Wigan at home prime example. https://t.co/BfYbcGABQH
