Leeds United fans were left feeling frustrated after they received an update with regards to how the FA will handle Kiko Casilla’s hearing over his charge of using racist language.
In an article by Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth, it has become clear that the governing body base proof on the ‘balance of probability’, meaning a panel will only have to decide if the allegation against the ‘keeper was ‘more than likely’. The former Real Madrid man is being charged with using racist language against West Bromwich Albion’s Jonathan Leko during the clash with his loan club Charlton Athletic back in September.
If Casilla is found guilty, the Whites would have to turn to Illan Meslier, who has yet to make a single Championship appearance for the Yorkshire outfit. The article about how the FA handles their hearings has left some fans feeling rather angry as they hit out at the association. Here are some of the reactions, as one supporter lambasted the ‘outrageous’ proceedings…
Balance of probability is an awful judge of character if nothing else

Good article. Balance of probability is a v unsatisfactory outcome. The law of the land should be above the rules of an organisation with questionable practices. To deeply affect a man’s reputation and career you need more than that. ‘Likely guilty or innocent’ is not acceptable.

The FA have never worries about burden of truth. They are an inept out of date organisation that has no issues with being judge, jury and executioner. No court in the land would make a decision based on limited evidence. But they will and they will ban him

@RogDog_CAFC outrageous it’s on the balance of probability

On the balance of probability surely weighs heavier on casilla being 33 years old.
Would he suddenly become racist at this age? He’s played with many Black players throughout his career and still does..🙄
The WBA representation also makes me very suspicious as to what’s going on. https://t.co/k2k9lqaeay— WACCOE1919 #MOT💙💛 (@Waccoe1919) February 20, 2020
