Leeds United: Fans hit out at Neil Warnock after claims about the Championship this year

Leeds United fans have been hitting out at former manager Neil Warnock after he made a claim about the state of the Championship this season.

Warnock was appearing on a show on talkSPORT and he went on to make some claims with regards to the Whites and fellow promotion challengers West Bromwich Albion (via talkSPORT)

He claimed that the two clubs wouldn’t be top of the league during a ‘good season’ and also said consistency was the only reason the two sit top of the Championship.

The former Cardiff City manager also went on to claim Fulham have the best squad and Brentford have the best strikers.

A look at the league table would suggest the 71-year-old isn’t correct in his claims as Fulham sit in fifth-place, while both the Whites and the Baggies have scored more goals than the Bees (via BBC).

Fans weren’t too pleased with the claims from Warnock as they took to Twitter to hit out at him. Indeed, one also referred to him as an ‘unemployed dinosaur’, following the Yorkshireman himself describing himself as a dinosaur last year.

Who would’ve thought that the unemployed dinosaur would have an opinion on the championship? ‘Run of the mill? Thankfully the championship is changing & teams are playing enjoyable football. Not a typical N.W side where you have to be 6 foot 4 to play. Another irrelevant opinion.
