Leeds United fans were hitting out at the officiating in their FA Cup third-round tie against Arsenal after Granit Xhaka managed to escape a yellow card in his side’s 1-0 win over the Whites.
The Swiss midfielder seemed to be in the thick of the action in the FA Cup tie as he made an eye-opening four fouls yet received no yellow card (via WhoScored).
It was the second-most number of fouls of any player on the pitch last night with Leeds’ Mateusz Klich making 5 as he earnt himself a booking.
BBC’s co-commentator during the fixture, Danny Murphy, was left less than pleased with the lack of a booking for the player as he hit at referee Anthony Taylor (BBC via football.london).
Taylor also earnt the wrath of a number of ex-players with Matt Le Tissier one of the ex-stars taking to Twitter to ask whether the FA had introduced a new rule concerning Xhaka and yellow cards.
It seems the fans were also less than impressed with the fact the 27-year-old wasn’t booked by Taylor last night as they took to the social media platform to react.
