Leeds United fans were hitting out at Patrick Bamford’s teammates after statistics emerged about the forward’s finishing this season.
According to LUFC Data, own goals have been the club’s best source for goals after Bamford this campaign with six. One fan lambasted the whole team as he labelled them ‘terrible’.
The whole team are terrible in front of goal but bamford is a striker and it’s a strikers main job. Its frustrating watching them miss so many easy chances in every game. But all I can think of is at least I get to watch them creating all those chances and play great football.

There was also a table shared by the Twitter account, which took a deeper look at the various statistics of the top 28 goalscorers in the Championship. According to the data, Bamford has an xG of 15.61, the highest difference between goals scored (10) and goals expected of the 28 players on the graphic. Looking further across the table and the 26-year-old has also missed the most big chances and hit the woodwork the joint-most number of times of the players listed.
However, he was, seemingly, being defended by some fans as they chose to blast his fellow teammates for not chipping in with more goals this year as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
Yes admittedly he’s finishing has been below par but as you say equally so has most of team. Harrison missed 2 sitters on sat but as usual only Bamford gets it in neck. Tbf one of his chances he was manhandled for his diving header. Far more contact than Fulham’s penalty!!

Been saying this all week.

Take Saturday, the front 3 and on top MK were all wasteful. They snatch at chances/shotd instead of taking their time of pass. JH missed a sitter and it’s not the first time. HC does not follow the ball in, especially if JH is crossing.

I agree with this, he’s the scapegoat. So many chances missed by everyone. We are ruthless at pressing, attempts but our conversion rate is a shambles. Look at the contribution of Man City’s players in goals, its outrageous that OGs are our second highest scorer.

Agreed, Harrison, Klich, KP, Costa etc…. all should be scoring more. Not just down to PB.
