Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara believes that Leeds United should have spent big on a striker in the January transfer window.
Jean-Kevin Augustin was the centre-forward of choice last month as he joined the Whites on loan from Red Bull Leipzig. However, it seems as though O’Hara doesn’t believe the 22-year-old was enough as he claimed the side “should’ve bought big” during the winter window (via talkSPORT).
The calls for a new target man came amid a drastic drop in form from Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah’s return to Arsenal following his loan spell with the Yorkshire club. The 26-year-old went on a run of six goals in 19 Championship games prior to January, while the north London outfit were far from pleased with the 20-year-old’s lack of starts under Marcelo Bielsa.
O’Hara’s comments seem to suggest the club’s business wasn’t the best, something which has annoyed many of the Elland Road faithful. Let’s take a look at some of the replies:
