Leeds United fans were lauding Ezgjan Alioski after the fullback’s performance in the comeback victory over Millwall in the Championship last night.
The player made the starting XI in place of Kalvin Phillips after regular left-back Stuart Dallas had moved into midfield following the Yorkshire native’s red card against Queens Park Rangers (via WhoScored). He justified his inclusion with a brilliant attacking performance against the Lions, having the joint-fourth most shots at goal, playing the joint-third most key passes and recovering possession seven times.
One fan compared him to footballing great Roberto Carlos, who amassed 21 major honours in a glittering career.
Prime Roberto Carlos in that second half

Leeds Live were very complimentary of the 27-year-old as they gave him seven out of 10, commenting on his display going forward after making his first start since drawing with West Brom at the start of the month. The North Macedonia international has made 27 appearances across all competitions, however, the start last night was his first in the league since the 5-4 win over Birmingham City last December (via Transfermark).
Fans were heaping praise on the defender after last night’s victory as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
Second half was unbelievable, same with Harrison.
