Leeds United: Fans laud Kalvin Phillips after performance in narrow loss to Arsenal

Leeds United fans were lauding Kalvin Phillips after his performance in the narrow loss to Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Leeds-born ace was at the heart of the action for his side as he won an eye-opening nine tackles during the game, the most of any player on the pitch (via LUFC Data).

However, his overall performance wasn’t just limited to him sitting in front of his back-four, also going on to show his attacking quality.

Phillips played the joint-most key passes (4) and more than 50% (24/40) of his passes forward as the Whites had their fair share of attacking threat.

Following the performance, the 24-year-old spoke about how the club had ‘fulfilled’ their aim of putting in a ‘fine performance’ at the Emirates Stadium (via Yorkshire Evening Post).

Fans were lavishing the ace with praise following his outstanding performance against the Gunners as they took to Twitter to react.
