Luke Ayling has been putting in brilliant performances since his famous interview after the loss to Nottingham Forest which won him the hearts of supporters, who hailed his display as ‘phenomenal’.
In the game against Brentford, he proved to be an important figure as the Whites dominated the Bees in a titanic clash between the two promotion rivals. He continued in the same vein of form against Bristol City on Saturday as he scored the winning goal for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He was adventurous despite the fact he was playing at right-back, having the most shots at goal of any of his teammates (5) (via WhoScored). However, Ayling was also effective in his side’s defensive third as he made the joint-most tackles (3) for his side. He seems to have endeared himself to supporters over the last couple of weeks as the Elland Road faithful took to Twitter to laud the London-born defender for his display.
