Leeds United fans have been laying into Tyler Roberts after the Wales international commented on his return to fitness in the 1-0 loss at home to Wigan Athletic.
The forward came on in the 64th minutes for Ezgjan Alioski with the Whites one-nil down to the relegation-threatened side. After the game, Roberts thanked some of the staff at the club, who helped him return to action for the first time since December. Prior to Saturday, Roberts’ last game was the late win over Birmingham City, an outing which saw him come on for the final nine minutes before he was left out for following three league games.
Former Leeds man Danny Mills claimed that the decision to bring on the forward was the wrong one, saying Ian Poveda should’ve been given a chance (via Football Insider). Fans weren’t in the best of moods as they took to Twitter to lash out at the striker after his comments following the game. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
