Leeds United: Fans left stunned by statistics about home games against Wigan Athletic

Leeds United fans were left stunned after statistics from the side’s last two home games against Wigan Athletic emerged following the 1-0 loss to the relegation-threatened team.

According to stats shared by LUFC Blog, the Whites have amassed a staggering 54 attempts on goal compared to the Latics’ 13, however, Paul Cook’s men have scored three goals to Leeds’ one. The figures get worse and worse as you read on with Marcelo Bielsa’s men possessing a higher xG (5.67 to 1.21), but, a much lower shot conversion rate of just 1.3%, compared to 23.1%.

One fan simply couldn’t believe what he was reading.

Prior to their 1-0 win at Elland Road last weekend, Wigan beat the Yorkshire outfit 2-1 last season (via BBC). A brace from Gavin Massey saw the team from Greater Manchester steal all three points, despite the fact they had Cedric Kipre sent off in the 14th minute.
