Leeds United: Fans offer mixed reactions to links with Serie B goalkeeper

Leeds United fans were offering mixed reactions to the club’s chase of Chievo ‘keeper Elia Caprile after reports over interest.

According to reports in Italy (via The Athletic’s Leeds correspondent), the Yorkshire outfit are interested in signing the 18-year-old, who is seen as a good prospect.

The news comes after the brilliant performance on 19-year-old loanee Illan Meslier, who impressed on his debut in the FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

Any signing of the young Italian player could see him potentially competing with the likes Kamil Miazek and Matthew Turner across the under-23s and under-18s.

Caprile has endured a tough season with Chievo this campaign, conceding 26 goals in just 13 league games with the Italian side (via Transfermarkt).

Fans weren’t all feeling the same way about the reports over an interest in the 6 foot 3 player with some believing it’s a good move, while others remain unsure due to various reasons.

Wouldn’t we be better keeping Miazek/Huffer as an understudy for a few weeks? Seems daft to waste wages if little difference?
