Leeds United: Fans pleased with latest transfer news released by Phil Hay

Leeds United fans have been voicing their pleasure after Phil Hay released some news over a potential transfer for the Whites.

The journalist revealed that Matej Vydra, despite being linked with the club, would not be making the move to Elland Road.

It had been reported by The Daily Mirror that the Yorkshire club were interested in making a move for the out-of-favour Burnley man.

The Czech Republic international has been frozen out by Sean Dyche this season, starting just one Carabao Cup game this campaign. However, despite his lack of starts, the attacker does have two assists in just 148 minutes of football (via Transfermarkt).

Meanwhile, Leeds could well lose Patrick Bamford’s deputy, Eddie Nketiah, after reports from Football Insider that the club expects Arsenal to recall him from his loan spell.

Fans seemed to be pleased after Hay shutdown the reports of a move for Vydra as they took to Twitter to react.

Don’t really understand the fascination with Vydra. He’s not better than what we have at the moment, and I don’t think he’d be good enough for next season if we go up. Don’t get it.
