Leeds United fans were praising Barry Bannan after the midfielder’s performance in the 2-0 win over the Whites last weekend.
Bannan enjoyed a brilliant game against Marcelo Bielsa’s side as he completed two key passes and three dribbles during the 90 minutes (via WhoScored). It was a performance lauded by The Athletic’s Phil Hay, who claimed the 30-year-old ran the second-half. One fan was in complete awe of the Scotland international as he commented on the player’s work rate.
From the South Stand Bannan was literally everywhere. He’d make a tackle at left back and then appear in central midfield. Was fantastic yesterday for them.

However, the Yorkshire outfit have been plunged into problems of their own having seen their gap to third place cut down to just six. Following the Boxing Day draw at home to Preston North End, the Championship side had an 11 point gap to Brentford, however, have since gone on a run of just one win in three league games.
Fans were left praising Bannan (who played 7 games for the Whites back in 2011) following his performance against their side on Saturday afternoon as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
He did the same at Hillsborough in the second half! Top player!

Bannan is the sort of leader we miss , especially when we are under pressure.

He controlled the whole game. So did Reach.
Hate to say it, but could do with a player like him to control things in the middle of the park.— Kieron Hall (@KieronHall90) January 12, 2020
From a non biased point of view a thought Wednesday backline was really yesterday.
But by not means do I think the rest of the team is any good bar Bannan.
Monk won the game yesterday for them.Mentality there’s a weakness for us and I think it’s the same with the fan’s also.
