Leeds United fans have been praising midfielder Mateusz Klich after a statistic about the player emerged prior to their game at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
After he was announced in the starting XI, it became apparent that Klich was about to start his 75th consecutive Championship game for the Yorkshire outfit, a run only bettered by former favourite Gordan Strachan, who started 81 games between March 1989 and February 1991 (via Jonny Cooper). One fan was so happy with the player and his run of starts, he had a special compliment for him regarding his status at the club.

However, it could well have been a much different story for the ace, who revealed he was close to exiting the club before being handed a chance by Marcelo Bielsa (SportoweFakty via Yorkshire Evening Post). Klich’s versatility over the course of this campaign has been quite staggering with the 29-year-old having played in three different positions, central and left midfield as well as the number 10 role (via Transfermarkt).
