Leeds United fans were professing their sadness after the real reason for Salim Lamrani’s departure came to light
According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, the former translator’s relationship with Marcelo Bielsa had turned ‘sour’ and is the reason he left the club. He seemed to be a popular figure at the Yorkshire outfit and his decision to leave clearly affected the fans, who displayed their sadness when he shared the news last July (via HITC).
Bielsa has been at the club since before the beginning of the 2018/2019 campaign, however, is yet to learn English and has come out claiming, earlier this season, that he doesn’t have the time (via The Mirror). However, it doesn’t seem to have a profound effect on the Whites, who are six points clear of third-place in the race for automatic promotion from the Championship.
Fans were left feeling sad after being told about the real reason Lamrani left the club as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
Forget the Che Adams deal, this is by far the worst #lufc news in a while.
