Many Leeds United fans have been reacting to the news that Jean-Kevin Augustin is ready to return to first team training when the football season finally resumes, via the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Football reporter Graham Smyth has revealed Augustin is now fully match-fit, and will be able to reunite with his teammates when Thorp Arch re-opens.
After arriving at Elland Road from RB Leipzig on a short-term loan contract in January, the 22-year-old only made 3 appearances in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, until he suffered a hamstring injury during practice. Prior to his move to Yorkshire, Augustin scored 1 goal in 13 games during a brief stint with AS Monaco, before returning to his parent club at the start of the year.
The French striker has scored 20 goals in 67 matches for Die Roten Bullen, and he clearly has lots of untapped potential, so, if the youngster is given the chance to adapt to Bielsa-ball, supporters could be in for a real treat when the league restarts.
Understandably, a large number of the LUFC faithful responded to the forward’s injury update on Twitter, with one fan calling Augustin “proper class,” and another adding he is “key to promotion.”
